AVT Paints is a company that believes firmly in supporting our community. With this in mind, we have been constantly supporting a number of worthy projects since Ironlak started. This section aims to highlight projects that we are supporting currently.

“Colour Scheme” is an exhibition of Melbourne artists being held at Revolver Upstairs on the 24 August 2007. The exhibition will showcase the artists having only produced monochromatic paintings using various tones of the colour along with black and white. The paintings will be hung around the venue like a colour spectrum. Eight Colours will be used in total with 16 paintings on display. Ironlak has donated paint for the exhibition and is the official sponsor of “Colour Scheme”

Ironlak sponsored a skate event at Riverside Skate Park in Melbourne in October 2007, providing paint for the park to be painted by local young people.

EBAY sales took place in October 2007 to clear on the last of the old formula Ironlak at a bargain price, all proceeds from these were given to Sydney Children’s hospital and Kids Help line. The sales raised in excess of $2500.00. Thanks to all those who bid on EBAY that allowed this donation to take place for two worthwhile causes.

Creative art workshops are currently being planned, working closely with Gaye Fleming and Interchange Northern Beaches. The workshops will be run by sponsored Ironlak writer “Reals” and are set to take place in August. This is going to be an exciting project that will draw teenage guys with intellectual and physical disabilities together with cutting edge art; creating a unique situation and as far as we are aware an Australian first.

"Off the Streets" is being held on 7th July 2007. It is a Brisbane street art festival with a number of Brisbane's best street artists donating their skills to a good cause. The event is going to be hosted at S&M Studio's West End and will run for approximately three weeks. All proceeds collected at the door will go to international charity "Food Not Bombs". Ironlak will have some artists perform live at the gallery space over the exhibition period as well as donate paint and make a cash donation to "Food Not Bombs"

Riverstone Festival was held on 20th May 2007, with youths from the Riverstone Arts and Vocational Project in connection with the Riverstone Neighbourhood Centre providing a live demonstration to the community on the day to show their creative abilities to the local area. It was also hoped that this would lead to further legal spaces in the Riverstone area where information was provided to community members on the advantages of a legal wall, all paint supplied on the day was donated by Ironlak. Feedback to the young people of Riverstone on the day was very encouraging.

Melbourne Stencil Festival was again held this year from the 11th of May, showcasing Australian and International stencil artists. The week long festival provided live collaborations between local and interstate artists that were auctioned off on the final day of the festival for Youth Substance abuse Service in Fitzroy. Brazilian artist Celso and Poet Rica P from the Spray Poeticos Collective in Sao Paulo held a workshop on the 12th & 13th of May, all spray paint used at the Festival was provided by Ironlak. In addition to supporting community projects and initiatives Ironlakhas a number of its own initiatives that it promotes in order to show young people the social and creative benefits of aerosol art when conducted responsibly. Some of these include the annual Ironlak graffiti competition that promotes the use of Ironlak for creative exploration through legal murals offering great prizes to experienced artists and beginners. There is also the Ironlak Team that conducts large scale graffiti murals throughout Australia over a number of days promoting graffiti as a legitimate art form to local communities.

The team at Ironlak also sit down just before every Christmas each year and come up with a select number of Charities in which to make cash donations towards. These are usually causes that are dear of the hearts of those involved with Ironlak.
